squinting hard just to see now
bloodshot eyes in the sky
throttles back in his seat while
distant ground rushes by
steering wildly, white-nosed
leaving nothing behind
except some yachts and a mansion
but now he’s flying high
bought and believed in things
bandaids for misplaced dreams
rotting below now he screams
smelling his savior speed
red eyes see white-capped cliffs coming to save him
from gaping wounds dollars couldn’t sew
what you’ll never know
blow on mirror, leaned in, scared of reflection

bloody fire on white caps
burning what's left alive
snow fall to a demise
could buy all things but time
left a message in white puffs
for those gazing below
his final message read “goodbye"
and then drifted to snow
